Is it possible to import a bill of materials or company database into DFA?

Design for Assembly Version 9 has a built-in feature for importing data into an analysis from a text file (such as data from CAD or PDM). Please see the help topic "Importing a text file". This feature allows you to import part names, part numbers, and many other fields. Your custom data fields can also be imported, for example supplier names, inventory numbers etc . You can even import indented BOM's to create the product structure.

The import feature was designed as a "wizard" and walks you through the process of setting up the import. Once the process is complete, you can save the import as a specification. The specification allows you to import in one step the next time you import similar data.
