Chris Tsai has over 20 years of
engineering, change management, and leadership experience with the
Eastman Kodak Company. Most of that time was spent in the equipment
product design and manufacturing portion of Kodak’s business (i.e.
digital cameras, scanners, printers, medical imaging devices, etc.). He
has held positions in product & tooling design engineering,
manufacturing engineering, project management, and quality management.
Early in his career, he established himself as a corporate subject
matter expert in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and Design for
Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) and later expanded that expertise to Lean
Six Sigma being certified as a Black Belt and becoming a corporate Lean
Six Sigma instructor. He has developed and delivered corporate training
and certification around the world. |
- Chris has been
recognized as a leader of change through his work in Lean Six Sigma.
Chris participated and led numerous DMAIC and DFSS initiatives in
Kodak’s various businesses. This
work included deployment strategy, training development & delivery, and
mentoring of both teams and individuals.
- Chris functioned as a
corporate subject matter expert in Value Analysis/Value Engineering
(VA/VE) and Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) providing
consulting services to Kodak’s various product development teams.
For over a decade, he was the deployment steward for Boothroyd
Dewhurst, Inc. DFMA software providing “just in time” training and
application advice.
- As Quality Manager in Kodak’s Health Imaging business,
Chris led the deployment of new problem solving and supplier quality
management processes. These processes
were integrated into the Lean Six Sigma operational strategy for the
business and drove an order of magnitude improvement in product and process
quality.

product development consulting firm. Bob was with HP and Agilent
Technologies for 27 years and has been a Boothroyd Dewhurst Workshop
Instructor for over 18 years where he has trained over 2,500 engineers
in DFMA and Creative Design. His 21 years of manufacturing experience
includes extensive instrumentation product development and PCA/SMT
process engineering and 6 years of R&D Design experience in both high
volume products and specials. Bob is the published author in DFA for 2
university textbooks and is a past president of the Rocky Mountain
Council for Competitive Products. |

Gerald Burke started at Ford Motor Company as a Skilled Trades
Apprentice and graduated in 1964. He returned to school and received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was also
credited as a Certified Manufacturing Engineer with the Society of
Mechanical Engineering. The hands on, supervisory, and managerial
positions that he held while at Ford were in production assembly, plant
engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, corporate
manufacturing staff and the engineering materials and standards office.
From 1984 to 1989, Gerald was Ford’s worldwide corporate Design for
Assembly (DFA) trainer and consultant. After 34 years with Ford, Gerald
retired to devote himself full time as president of J&J Engineering,
Inc.

Boothroyd Dewhurst since 1989.
- Benchmarked, consulted and
trained for over 110 companies on over 200 different programs. These
companies include Aerospace, Agriculture, Consumer Products,

Telecommunications, Transportation, Utilities and many others.
